DEAD ROBOT: A Journal Of Creative Storytelling
A Journal Of Creative Storytelling

Problem: The road to publication is fraught with many perils. Most of them we can counter with our pure, good ol' literati gusto, but others, the most fiendish perils, can only be countered with money, money and money. And, as a small press publisher, money is the one thing we lack. While we may in the future be inclined towards advertising, we would A: prefer not to submit to this beast and B: our relative newness precludes us from garnering the sort of ad money to offset our costs in any meaningful fashion. The cost of printing the magazine ranges well up in the $1000-$5000 level for even the modest run we hope to put forward with our second issue, this spring.

Solution: To this end we have started the Dead Robot Patronage Society. Our intention is to gain, through the kindness of your heart, the monies necessary to cover the printing costs of our periodical. In exchange for your donation, we will not only thank you in the print edition of our next issue, but will put together a thank you package consisting of original work from our publication. For example, at the $200 donation level, we would send you an original page of comic from our archives of Dead Robot material. Beyond this, you would probably receive some other artwork, stickers, cards, notable mentions and anything else laying on our editor's desk of worth. You would, of course, also receive a copy of Dead Robot mailed to you upon it's publication.

Our current schedule is for issue 2 to see publication sometime in April or May. The original pages for patrons currently are pages from P. Calavara's Hamlet as well as original artwork from the Lit Project. All proceeds from these sales go directly to cover our printing costs for the magazine. If you are interested in becomming a patron, please contact us via email or telephone at 360.259.2358. Remember, if patronage was good enough for the Medici family, shouldn't it be good enough for you?

Thank you for your interest.
